Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (11th Edition). The federal standard for signs, signals, markings, and temporary traffic control / work zones (Part 6).
ADA 2010 Standards
Americans with Disabilities Act Standards for Accessible Design. Governs accessible parking counts (208), and stall, aisle and signage dimensions (502).
OSHA
Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules for worker protection, including work-zone safety and high-visibility requirements on the job site.
MASH
Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware. The crashworthiness criteria roadside and work-zone devices must meet (barriers, attenuators, sign supports).
ANSI/ISEA 107
The standard for high-visibility safety apparel. Defines performance classes (Class 2, Class 3) for garments worn in the right-of-way.
ASTM D4956
Specification for retroreflective sheeting used on signs and devices. Defines the sheeting types and minimum retroreflectivity levels.
